Cadeler has taken early delivery of its newest jack-up vessel, Wind Keeper, marking the eighth addition to its expanding fleet. The company announced the purchase last month, and the vessel has now been officially handed over.
Alongside the delivery, Cadeler signed a long-term contract with Vestas for a firm period of three years starting early 2026, with options extending the total duration by up to two and a half years. The firm value of the contract is approximately € 210 million, with potential total value exceeding € 380 million if all options are exercised.
Wind Keeper will operate as a versatile service vessel, supporting operations and maintenance as well as transport and installation tasks for Vestas on current and future offshore wind projects.
The vessel departed China in early July en route to Europe, where it will undergo upgrades before the contract begins in the first quarter of 2026. These modifications will enhance operational capacity and ensure consistency with Cadeler’s fleet. Wind Keeper will be equipped with seafastening for three sets of Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines and upgraded to support installations in the growing 15 MW turbine segment.
