Hitachi Energy has announced plans to expand its power transformer manufacturing facility near Montreal. Planned upgrades include a new assembly line and two flexible core and winding feeding lines to improve production continuity.
The factory will also continue to apply Hitachi Energy’s TrafoStar transformer technology platform, which standardises design, manufacturing processes and quality control across its global network of transformer plants. The company will invest an additional CAD 270 million (USD 195 million) in the site, building on a project announced in 2024, which will almost triple annual production capacity and create around 500 new jobs.
