Natural Power expands ControlCentre to support wider range of renewable technologiesNatural Power has officially launched the latest expansion of its ControlCentre at its global headquarters, The Greenhouse, near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway, UK. First established in 2008, the ControlCentre is now in its third phase of development.

This latest upgrade increases capacity, strengthens IT resilience, and enhances operational capability across a broader range of technologies, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, and battery energy storage. Supported by funding from South of Scotland Enterprise, the investment also enabled the expansion of a fully operational disaster recovery facility in Dumfries.

The ControlCentre currently employs 29 staff, with five additional roles expected to be created over the next three years.

Natural Power manages 11.5 GW of renewable energy assets across multiple technologies. It supports approximately 35% of the United Kingdom’s onshore wind capacity and oversees 4.1 GW of offshore wind and Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) projects. It is also responsible for around 20% of the country’s battery storage capacity. Each year, the ControlCentre handles more than 155,000 calls and issues over 76,000 instructions to the National Grid.
