RWE has expanded its renewable construction portfolio in Italy to a total of 235 MW, following the start of additional wind and solar projects in 2026. After initiating construction of 112 MW of wind and solar capacity in 2025, the company has begun a further 123 MW in 2026. This brings the total capacity currently under construction in Italy to 235 MW.

Greenvolt, through its subsidiary Greenvolt Power, has secured financing for the construction of a 253.1 MW onshore wind project in Ialomița County, south-eastern Romania. The project is being developed under a sale agreement with Engie Romania, signed at the end of 2025.

Avangrid, part of the Iberdrola group, has extended its offtake agreement with Xcel Energy for electricity generated by the MinnDakota wind project. The MinnDakota facility has a capacity of 150 MW and is located on the border between Minnesota and South Dakota.

Exus Renewables has signed an agreement with Masdar to acquire a 60 per cent stake in a portfolio of nine onshore wind farms in Portugal. Masdar will retain the remaining 40 per cent interest. The portfolio is located in the Guarda and Castelo Branco regions and is undergoing a large-scale repowering programme.

Xcel Energy will provide power to a new Google data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, USA. The companies are collaborating to add 1,900 MW of clean energy to the grid. Google will cover any new grid infrastructure costs, working with Xcel Energy to maintain reliable and affordable electricity for all customers.
