Derecktor Shipyards has delivered DC1, a 12-metre catamaran built for Crest to support offshore operations in the USA. The vessel was developed with Chartwell Marine and is powered by Volvo Penta systems. It was constructed at Derecktor’s New York yard and will assist crews working from a service operation vessel.
The design by Chartwell Marine uses a catamaran hull to improve stability. Twin Volvo Penta IPS D6-500 units provide manoeuvrability and support efficient transfers between larger vessels, offshore structures and other work sites.
DC1 can carry two crew and eight passengers and is certified by the USA Coast Guard under Subchapter T. Its layout is arranged for inspection, maintenance and operational tasks across offshore energy and research activities.
