Dong Fang Offshore has signed a shipbuilding contract with Westcon in Norway for the completion of a large subsea and cable-lay vessel. Westcon will take over the build of the vessel, which is already under construction, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The order follows recent changes in Dong Fang Offshore’s available cable-installation capacity in Taiwan. DeepOcean has exercised its 2028 option for the vessel Orient Adventurer in Europe, keeping it on long-term work there until the end of 2028, with further options extending to 2031.
