Q Energy has started dismantling the Plomodiern wind farm in Finistère, with the turbines set to be completely overhauled and redeployed at a new site in 2028. Renvo, a company specialising in the reuse and repurposing of wind turbines, has selected machines suitable for refurbishment for the future location. Coverwind is handling the dismantling of the Plomodiern turbines, which are managed by Energiter.
The overhaul of nacelles and hubs will be carried out by Dutch specialist Rengineers, while towers and rotor blades will be temporarily stored at sites near the dismantling location. Legal support from Stream Avocats and Pinsent Masons has ensured certainty throughout the various processes.
