Fugro has completed geophysical and archaeological surveys for Energia Wind 2020 to support development of the planned 330MW Rimini offshore wind farm. The work covered both the wind farm site and the export cable corridor about 12 nautical miles off the Rimini coast in the Adriatic Sea, Italy.
Two survey vessels were deployed to carry out high-resolution mapping of seabed and subsurface conditions, using ultra-high-resolution shallow seismic data and other geophysical techniques. The programme also identified archaeological features relevant to planning and permitting. Fugro’s Geo-data will be used to refine cable route selection and inform engineering design for the project’s infrastructure.
