Ocean Winds has been awarded rights to develop a floating offshore wind site in the Celtic Sea by The Crown Estate. The area, located off the coasts of England and Wales, is the third site made available under Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5.
The first two sites were awarded in June 2025, while this site was allocated through a direct award process. The 358 square kilometre area lies in water depths of 71 to 88 metres and could support a project of up to 1.5 GW, potentially built in phases. Ocean Winds is a joint venture between EDPR and Engie.
