Ocean Winds (OW), the offshore wind company formed by EDP Renewables and ENGIE, has completed installation of the third and final turbine at the Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) project. Developed with Banque des Territoires, EFGL is the first floating offshore wind farm in the Occitanie region to finish turbine installation.
The turbines were assembled at Port-La Nouvelle and towed 16 kilometres offshore. They will now undergo final cable and grid connection works carried out by RTE before the project begins power generation.
